BAPTISM
Baptism is the ritual where new members are received into the Church. It is the first of the seven sacraments, and a celebration common to all Christian traditions.
Baptism is the first sacrament of initiation. Through Baptism Christians are washed in the waters of rebirth and given a share in God’s own life. Reborn in Christ and supported by the community of faith, all the baptised are offered the promise of eternal life.

Baptism is a happy event for our Parish - and a time to ponder God’s loving gifts in our lives.
For your child to be baptised in the Catholic faith one Parent / Legal Guardian and one Godparent must be Catholic, depending on the age of your child, you or your child accompanied with a Parent / Legal Guardian must have completed a baptism preparation program, and your child has been presented at a weekend Mass at least one week prior to the baptism if the baptism is to take place outside a parish mass.
Baptisms outside of a parish mass are held in our Parish on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays of the month and the date of your child's presentation mass and baptism will be confirmed once you have completed a baptismal preparation program.

Our Baptismal Preparation Programs for Parents and Legal Guardians of children under the age of 7, run on the First Thursdays in the months of February, April, June, August and October at 7pm in the Callinan Centre bookings are required as sessions will not run if no bookings have been made.
Children aged 7 years and over complete a "Preparation of Young Children for Baptism" program accompanied by a Parent / Legal Guardian.
